What was the biggest adventure of your past year?

Posted on Dec 31st, 2008 by waterheart : watershaman waterheart
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 31, 2008:

After 17 years of marraige my wife decided to trade me in for a new model and unfortunately for me this meant not seeing as much of my children(Kyra,Ryan) as I would like to have........So 20 years later,a visit from Ryan to the Retreat was so exciting to us both,he came in the summer and stayed for 10 days.We floated the rivers, worked together,he is a chef in Laguna Beach and cooked up fantasy meals. The rebonding and love between us was wonderful and healed the painful past...Kyra came at the end of fall, and that was another wonderful meeting and created a blog all of its own..( What area of your life could use healing right now)..I have to combine both visits and say that it was the best thing that happened..I did not realise how wonderful it was to be with my children as it had been so long and infrequent...This new bond is beautiful, and they love being here and plan to return.....The rebonding of love, with my children was a gift I badly needed...and was the greatest moment of this past year....

My parents divorced when i was seven, and it was hard to see my father only a few times a year. As i grew older i started to realize that life without my father was making me unhappy, and he also was unhappy without seeing his children. So one day i called him and we had a life changing discussion (that i don’t need to go into detail on lol) that involved plans to see eachother more. Since that phone call i have had a much closer relationship with my father and i love every minute we spend time together.

Mending the wounds between your children must have been tough at first but i think it’s amazing how you stuck with it. As a daughter who knows what it’s like i say thank you for being there…even 20 years later:)

that was a beautiful story. I am happy for your happiness with your children. mine are grown up and away from home most of the time. When they are here, it is everything to me.

And a well deserved one at that.  The mending of relationships is the start of greater things to come.  I have nothing, but respect for you, Rafael.  <3

So wonderful Raph. And it’s great that you had such a beautiful life to share with him by that time. Good that you proceeded with living despite the sadness which might have otherwise held you in place. Great example to us all.

Peace and prosperity this January 1st. More love to you!
